5×7 inch. Artisan oil on gesso panel. Mounted and framed in thin brushed gold.
Part of a series about being ‘in the middle of things’ – oil paintings capturing sections of longer stories. I wanted to create a peaceful, still image with this apricot foxglove. The rich teal background was inspired by a Renaissance portrait by Bellini. Although this is an apricot foxglove, this colour is actually an illusion created by the combination of soft pinks and yellows.
